What’s better, dry cleaning or wet cleaning your carpets?

Are your carpets wet and soapy after being cleaned?

Ever had your carpet cleaned and it turned into a swamp? I was at a customer recently who told me a story about having a national carpet cleaning company (who shall remain nameless) clean her carpets and the next day it was like walking on a wet soapy sponge. I hear those stories all the time. If you have a story feel free to share it here.

What options do I have?

There are alternatives to traditional truck mounted steam cleaning... which is not steam but hot water. When done right with state of the art equipment in the hands of a highly trained technician for the right circumstance hot water extraction (steam) works fine. Unfortunately there is a lot of very old equipment out there in the hands of ill equipped technicians. Having said that you might think I believe dry cleaning is best. Not the case. Each cleaning method has strengths and weaknesses. Each has its place. Both work really well at what they do best. And not so well in some circumstances.

This is one of the truly great advantages of being a sole proprietor of a small local business opposed to a national chain or franchise operator. I get to control the quality, service and what cleaning method will work best for you. In most cases we use 95% LESS water which leaves your carpets dry in 2-3 hours or in some cases much faster. With all natural environmentally friendly cleaning solutions they are safe for people, pets and the environment. But on those occasions where steam is called for I have the equipment and expertise to change to what will work best for you.

Custom carpet cleaning

Most carpet cleaners are locked into one method. They may even be convinced they have the best method. And… sometimes… they’re right. But not every time. I tell my customers all the time if there was one absolute best method all the time in every situation there would not be any other carpet cleaning methods. No one would purposely want to be second best right? So while I say there is no one best carpet cleaning method to clean carpets, there IS one that’s best for YOUR carpets. I just don’t know for sure which it is until you schedule a call and I see it.
